Baked Ziti
Whenever I make this dish, I get a ton of compliments and people literally lick their plates clean. Try it with garlic bread.
Ingredients
1 16oz. box ziti pasta, cooked according to package
1/2 lb. ground beef
1/2 lb. ground sausage
1/2 cup onion, chopped
2 jars (48 oz.) spaghetti
6-8 slices provolone cheese
1-1/2 cup shredded Mozzarella
1-1/2 cup sour cream
1/4 cup fresh basil
1/2 cup parmesan cheese
Directions
Cook pasta according to package and drain. Set aside.
Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
Grease a 11 x 7 casserole pan.
In a large skillet, brown the sausage and beef over medium heat. Add onions; saute until tender. Drain off fat and add spaghetti sauce; simmer for about 15 minutes.
In the greased baking dish, place about half of the pasta; top with a layer of provolone (I tear the cheese in half) and mozzarella cheese. Spread on a layer of half the spaghetti sauce mixture and sour cream.
Cover with remaining pasta, cheese and sauce; sprinkle a layer of Parmesan cheese and fresh basil.
Bake for about 30 minutes or until cheese and sauce are bubbly. Cool slightly and then serve.
