Cherry Crisp

Serve warm with vanilla ice cream! Yum!

If you don’t have fresh cherries…try substituting with 2 cans of cherry filling and top with the topping ingredients. I would check them after 25 mins though.

Notes

I use less sugar if using sweet cherries.

Sometimes I half the recipe and use an 8x8 pan…just make sure you only bake it for 20-25 minutes if you do this.

Ingredients

  • 4 cups cherries, pitted or enough to have a single layer in a 9x13 pan

  • 1/3 cup sugar

  • 1/3 cup splenda

  • 1/4 tsp almond extract

  • 4 Tbsp flour

  • TOPPING

  • 1-1/2 cups flour

  • 1 cup oats

  • 1 cup Brown Sugar

  • 1/2 cup butter

  • 1/2 cup shortening

  • 1 tsp cinnamon

Directions

  • Preheat oven to 375 degrees.

  • In a large bowl, combine cherries, sugar, splenda, almond extract, and 4 tablespoons flour. Pour into 9x13 inch baking dish.

  • In a medium bowl, combine 1 1/2 cups flour, cinnamon, oats, and brown sugar. Cut in butter and shortening until crumbly. Sprinkle over cherries.

  • Bake for 45-50 minutes.
